"I'm just back from America, I was just chilling and it was great. I can always go there, I can do pretty much whatever I want so, [breaking it] aint really an urgent thing for me. I've already cracked my hometown the U.K., Australia, so I'm quite happy with the way things are right now and we'll see what happens."

“We talked to him in America yesterday, he said, ‘I’m sorry that I wont be able to make the concert on Sunday’. He was recording his new album, that’s also had to stop as well.”

In a statement, Richie adds, “The show has a fantastic line up and I was looking forward to joining the other artists on what promises to be a fabulous day of entertainment. To all the fans that bought tickets I promise to be back very soon and make up for it with something very special.”

Lionel Richie Cries For Ancestor


Family tree on Who Do You Think You Are? has been traced by Lionel Richie and he fought back tears.

The singer found that his civil rights pioneering great-grandfather was buried in a pauper's grave.

He said: 'We take so much for granted. This is about as close to a spiritual awakening as I've ever had in my entire life.'

Former Commodores star Richie said: 'When we first started this journey I was always thinking we might uncover an ancestor like this [a slave owner], but this is unnerving in one respect, and empowering in another. It was an extremely brutal time.'

Lionel Richie has unveil that he was “afraid” of the elephant he arranged to attend daughter Nicole’s wedding.

Lionel Richie is trying out a new genre - country music,after success in soul and pop.for country star Kenny Rogers in 1980,Lionel wrote the hit song "Lady",but his upcoming duet album marks his first full country album.

Tony Brown, who is producing the album, reports that Richie has finished multiple duets for it. His collaborators include Darius Rucker ("Stuck on You"), Tim McGraw ("Sail On"), Willie Nelson ("Easy"), Little Big Town ("Deep River Woman"), Blake Shelton ("You Are"), and Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band ("All Night Long").

A new version of "Lady" has been also re-worked by Lionel Richie to be performed with Kenny Rogers.Richie last released Just Go in 2009 and has sold over 100 million records over the course of his career.

During the shopping it was Lionel Richie having more fun, with the 61-year-old crooner looking particularly taken with a pair of trainers during the outing.

It seems that they both look comfortable in each other's company.

The former couple who married in December 1995, have two children together, a 16-year-old son named Miles Brockman and a daughter, Sofia,12 .

Diane filed for divorce in October 2003, citing irreconcilable differences.

The former Simple Life star hinted that more children could be on the cards but that the couple are not rushing to extend their family.

"I don't think it's fair to ask someone who has had two back-to-back if they'll have another one! Right now I'm like, 'Nooo!' But you never know," she said. "I need a nap, I need a minute!"

Lionel Richie confirmed tour dates

A new released on 25 December 2010, Lionel Richie and Guy Sebastian announced a string of tour dates in March and April at the Australia and New Zealand.

His first tour dates on 18 March at the Vector Arena in Auckland, and several tour dates in March are 19, 26 and 27 and April 2, will take place at wineries as part of this year's A Day on the Green festival.

Richie also revealed Down Under for a performance at the Australia Football League's Grand Final match.
